The Maitreya Project, which is under way, will endow the world with a 500 foot high bronze statue of the Maitreya Buddha, surrounded by a peaceful, landscaped park set with many beautiful housings containing precious relics. The reasoning behind the project is simple but profound: the sight of the statue will encourage people to investigate, and when they learn, this will help to lead them to consider the benefits of an attitude of loving kindness in their own lives.
