Forest Sangha |
The Forest Sangha represents the
contemplative forest tradition of northern Thailand. This particular branch
of the Way of the Elders is characterised by strict observance of the Vinaya
Code. However, the Vinaya is not carefully followed merely for its own sake,
but in order to create the ideal conditions in which Meditation can flourish.
Thanks to the efforts of the late Ajahn Chah and his disciples, the Forest
Sangha now has thriving branch monasteries established in many parts of
the world. |
